Question: there are still smog and air pollution in LA no matter what unless those carsare zero emission. I came from Florida so I base my judgement of a good areais from the standards in FL. The population is about 45,000 people and tapwater is drinkable. Where in LA can you drink tap water? there's virtually nocrime, if there were, they were be petty thefts, drunk driving. of course, there's never a smog.you might think that's a rural area but it's not. there's a mcdonald, 4 or 5banks, walmart supercenter, etc. as far as I know Irvine fits into my definition of what a good area is. Mydefiniton of a good area is planned community consists of white collardemographics, golf courses, no blue collar industries, and very far from anysource of pullution.
Answer: Everywhere in LA. For that matter, tap water is drinkable throughout theU.S. Comparing a town of 45,000 to a city of 10 million or so is pointless. You prefer smaller towns to big cities -- that's fine, but it's big citiesyou don't like, not LA, specifically. Several years ago, I worked in a office building inFairfax County, Virginia ( near FairOaks Mall Shopping Center )where I was informed that the tap water from the restroomswas not potable/drinkable. Management said that only tapwater from the office kitchen/canteen and the water fountainswere drinkable. The way it was explained to me was that thelocal laws allowed a "lesser" water quality for the restrooms. Several years ago ( I think it was about 1993? ), WashingtonDC had a water problem - tap water came out cloudy and theCorp of Army Engineers had to come in and look at our waterpurification plant about possible contaminants ( possiblemicro-organisms ). Water experts asked DC residents to boiltheir tap water before using it - that incident cause alotof DC residents to switched to bottle water.
