I am in the market for a new water softener and a reverse osmosis unitMy TDS count is 525 and I have 19 GPG of hardness. I have a quote on aTechnitic 1000 and a microline reverse osmosis unit for $2300 I waswondering if anyone could tell me if that is unacceptable or if it isthe going rate. It appears that the mircoline is running for about 5or 6 hundred. I dont seem to find any pricing information on thetechnetic though.

Answer: All the prices mentioned are too high IMO and you can do better for thesoftener quality wise for much less money. Microline is a very good ROthough. Only you can determine unacceptable but that's the usual price range.
