Question: I want to purchase a reverse osmosis system and am looking for recommendations. Are the GE models sold at Home Depot any good?
Answer: You should only buy an RO when it is the best choice to remove/reduce whatever and how much of it is in your water. In many cases folks buy an RO when a good single or multi-stage filter would do as well. What do you want to remove form your water and how much of it do you have? If you don't know, why do you want an RO? Are you on your own well or 'city' water? That makes a difference. Either way, you should have an idea of what you think is, or could be, wrong with the quality. You can have the water tested but the cost for some tests is very high and I'd suggest speaking to a water treatment dealer and putting that money to better use by buying a filter or RO for your water.
