Buy Bottled Water

Question:
Just wondering if you buy bottled water? If not, do you drink straight from the tap? Let the water stand to eliminate clorine tastes? Boil? Filter?

Answer: I use a Pur 2-gallon container with built in filter, the type that you fill and put in the refrigerator. My tap water is fairly good anyway, but the Pur filter makes it perfect.

BTW, the filter cartridge has a little counter device which shows when you are supposed to change it - don't believe it. I'm still on the original filter LONG after the change indication. When the water starts tasting like tap water again, then I'll change it.

We don't buy bottled water unless we're on the road and either forgot to bring our own or have run out and cannot find a good place to get a refill. For traveling purposes--even short day trips, hikes, etc. we have a nice 2-liter drinking bottle with an insulated cover that was maybe $7-8 at K Mart. It works VERY well, especially when we fill it with ice halfway.

At home, we drink tap water, although we usually put it in a pitcher in the fridge to chill. I imagine some of the chlorine does evaporate that way. No filtering or boiling needed so far, as it tastes fine on its own.
